The USpam service keeps blacklisted email addresses in its local database for at least 4 days and moves them subsequently in the history. Each hit on an entry counts for another day, thus may ban an email address for quite some time until it appears not to be used any more. This strategy allows to keep the tables small and speed significantly the lookup.
